Foldy is the rare app that films itself. Ten seconds of your hinge, posted anywhere, and the views pay for it — your money back if you bought it, a licence of your own if you haven’t.
Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X or Threads. Film your own or post ours — one claim per purchase, and the tiers stack.
On X and Threads, the bar is higher. Both count an impression as a view, so there the three tiers sit at 50,000, 500,000 and a million. No judgement on either — just a different ruler.
Get ten seconds of it
If you have Foldy, film it: hold the phone at eye level, a little to the side, and close the lid slowly — the effect lives in the last thirty degrees, so do not rush that part. If you do not, take ours below.
Filming your own? What tends to land well:
- Fire or Liquid read best on camera. Frosted is lovely in person and quiet on a phone screen.
- A bright desktop behind the glass. Dark wallpapers give the frost nothing to chew on.
- No cuts. One take, one close. The whole appeal is that it is real.
- ⌘P plays the fold with the lid wide open, if you want a second angle without shutting anything.

No camera, no setup, no need to own Foldy yet. This is the clip we shot, cut to length and sized for each place it goes. Posting it counts the same as posting your own — the tiers do not care which.
Post it with #foldy
Reels, TikTok, Shorts, X or Threads — wherever you actually post. Public account, public post: we have to be able to see the view count, and so does everyone else. Leave it up for at least thirty days.
Send it over
Once it clears 5,000, fill this in. If you bought Foldy the refund goes back through Polar to the card you paid with; if you haven’t, the licence key arrives by email instead. Either way any Bubble Translate code comes in the same reply, usually within three days.
The small print
- Views have to be real. Bought views, bots and paid promotion do not count. It is usually obvious, and we do check.
- One claim per person. Post as often as you like — one clip is the one that counts toward the tiers, and a licence we send you is a licence, not a second claim.
- The tiers stack, and they keep counting. A clip that passes 50,000 next month still earns the year; come back and tell us. Nothing expires while the post is up.
- Every claim is read by a person, and the call is ours. We would rather pay out than argue.
- The video stays yours. We may reshare it with credit — say the word and we will not.
- Your licence keeps working after a refund. The app is yours, updates included; we are buying the clip, not taking the app back. A licence we send instead of a refund is the same licence, one Mac and free updates.
- Bubble Translate upgrades arrive as a code you redeem in the App Store. A year replaces the 3 months; lifetime replaces the lot.
- This can change or end, but anything already sent in gets honoured on the terms it came in under.
